About Nicole Love, LCSW

ONLINE THERAPY ACROSS INDIANA
BASED IN BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA

Hi, I'm Nicole Love.

I help millennial high achievers, perfectionists, and people pleasers overcome anxiety. My goal is to help you manage uncomfortable emotions with mindfulness so you can be present in your life.

My Journey To Becoming A Therapist

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've had joyful and deeply painful life experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.

When I was a senior in high school; I had my first panic attack. I didn't know it was a panic attack at that time. I thought something was wrong with me because I didn’t feel like myself anymore. I wasn't able to concentrate, stopped enjoying things, and did not sleep through the night anymore. My mind would race and I would worry about everything. I felt on edge and fearful the majority of the time. This continued and a year later I ended up on academic probation my first semester of junior college.

I saw a therapist for the first time in 2005 and she normalized my experience of feeling bad. She helped me understand that anxiety and depression are experienced by lots of people and can be treated. I felt relieved, seen, and heard. I was given practical tools on how to start feeling better that day.  My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today.

Helping People Is A Gift To Others, But Also To Myself

Being a therapist is unique, unlike anything else. Even though it is hard seeing people struggling and at their worst; I get the opportunity to watch you become more confident over the course of your treatment.  Simply put, you change your life.  One of the most rewarding things about being a therapist is seeing the change that occurs for my clients.

I am committed to empowering you to make big changes.

I Have Compassion For People & Bring Supportive Energy To Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

  • Help you identify what you are feeling

  • Reflect your thoughts back to you

  • Sense what you may be thinking and feeling

  • Be flexible on your path of discovering what's going on

People who know me often say that I am a truth-teller and a good listener. I will affirm your feelings which helps you feel seen and start to heal.

My pride and joy Rizzo. He’s a Goldendoodle.

How Therapy in Bloomington, In Works

During your 50-minute weekly sessions, you will have the opportunity to talk about your goals and life stressors. I will use mindful-based cognitive therapy to teach you how to manage feeling anxiety and other difficult emotions that show up in your everyday life.

It's important to me to stay open to any feedback and/or questions you may have because you are the expert on you. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Each session will fit your specific needs and concerns.

As A Therapist, I Embrace The Following Philosophies
